Furniture World News Desk on 8/7/2017

Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) recently announced ten winners of the third annual ANDYZ design awards, a program created in partnership with the California Central/Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) to spotlight the year’s best from interior designers, architects and design students based in the west. Awards were presented at the Summer 2017 Las Vegas Market, which runs through August 3, 2017. (NOTE: A group photograph of the winners is available download here.)

“Las Vegas Design Center and Las Vegas Market play a vital—and growing—role in helping the Western interior design community shop and source unique, innovative and fashion-forward merchandise to suit the wide-ranging needs of a diverse customer base,” said Lee Hershberg, Vice President, Home Décor Leasing and Las Vegas Design Center. “As a result, Las Vegas Design Center has seen a rapid and sustained increase in the number of interior designers shopping our showrooms continually throughout the year, as well as attending during Market, strengthening our position as the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States. We are pleased to once again work with ASID to recognize and celebrate the most outstanding residential, commercial and hospitality interiors with the ANDYZ awards.”

Renee Gangness, President of the Central California/Nevada Chapter of ASID, added, “Our goal at the CCA/NV ASID Chapter is to promote the value of interior design while bringing awareness to our communities. The ANDYZ awards reaches both the designer and the community by highlighting the stellar work surrounding us by our colleagues who have positively impacted our surroundings.”

ANDYZ winners are selected by a panel of interior design professionals based upon five main criteria: presentation; innovation/creative use of space; scale and functionality; aesthetics, and overall execution. The 2017 ANDYZ awards featured several new elements, including the addition of a new 10th award category recognizing superlative Las Vegas Market showroom design. The 2017 ANDYZ winners are:
