Malouf Raises $100,000 for Anti-Human Trafficking Initiatives

Utah-based bedding accessories maker Malouf recently announced that it has raised $100,000 for charity with a two-day sale. On Nov. 17 and 18, the company held a warehouse sale with a large portion of sales benefitting the Malouf Foundation’s anti-human trafficking initiatives. Community members were invited to purchase items with shipping-damaged and outdated packaging to support the foundation and its efforts to combat child sex trafficking.

“As a company, giving and solving problems are part of our core values,” said CEO Sam Malouf. “The issue of child trafficking is one of those huge, horrifying problems that won’t go away without everyone’s help. We’re committed to doing what we can, and this is one more way to tackle the issue.”

Malouf already put some of those funds to use, donating to Operation Underground Railroad as part of Giving Tuesday. The bedding company offered to help match all donations made to O.U.R. on November 28, with those funds going to a new aftercare center that will provide counseling, medical care, education and vocational training to survivors of child sex trafficking.

After two years of donating bedding items to aftercare centers for child trafficking survivors, Malouf announced earlier this year that anti-human traffic initiatives would become a banner issue for the Malouf Foundation.
