Hooker Furniture recently announced that they will be expanding their Miramar collection to four groups at the upcoming Spring Market. The addition of the more modern styled, Los Olas group, rounds out the collection to four distinctive looks that come together through the creative use of mixed materials including granite, stone, driftwood, honed Carrera marble, embossed leather accents, carved elements, acrylic accents, seeded glass, metal accents and a variety of textured fabrics.

Crafted of elm veneers and olive ash burl, Los Olas includes 25 pieces for the bedroom, dining room and occasional categories. Offering a more stylized and clean-lined aesthetic than the three groups introduced last fall – Aventura, Point Reyes and Carmel – Los Olas is presented in three distinctive wood finishes: a wire-brushed Shitake on elm with light distressing, a refined Tourine Gray, offering a fresh approach to ash burl and a heavily textured Pleated Driftwood finish that is reminiscent of the peaks and valleys of a topographical map.

Continuing the theme of using globally-sourced mixed materials – a key design element that characterizes the Miramar collection – several pieces in Los Olas feature brushed steel accents in a champagne Mezcal tonal finish, acrylic accents as well as sand blasted and waxed stone details in a Watercress finish. Muted neutral finishes, glass table tops and tonal textured fabrics seamlessly blend the four groups together to create a truly, one-of-a-kind, curated look.

“We were very successful with this relatively new – and somewhat unexpected – style category for our brand last Market,” said Pat Watson vice president of merchandising at Hooker Furniture. “As we focus on updating our product portfolio to address a wider range of consumers, our goal is for our dealers and the interior design community to naturally think of us as a source for product that truly takes a world view of design to reach a broad spectrum of consumer lifestyles.”

Highlights of the Los Olas group include two beds, a wood panel design with horizontal metal accents on the headboard and a metal foot on the low-profile footboard and an upholstered panel bed featuring a knife edge tufted headboard with envelope stitching in a sandy-hued linen. Bedroom storage and accent pieces include two nightstand options – one with a waxed Watercress stone top – a six-drawer dresser and two accent mirrors.

Dining table options include a uniquely-designed round table with a Pleated Driftwood base which supports a 60-inch diameter glass top, a metal base design with an 82-inch rectangular top that extends to 124-inches with two leaves and a more casually-scaled friendship table that adjusts from a standard 30-inch dining height to a 36-inch counter height. Pairing well with all three table styles is an upholstered chair with a performance fabric on the seat and a leather sling-style back, giving the appearance of a director’s chair. An arm and side chair design is also available featuring upholstered seats and backs with distinctive woven overlays on the outside backs of each. Dining storage pieces include a buffet with four doors adorned with heavily textured Pleated Driftwood and a bar cabinet with an X-shaped metal base.

Occasional and home entertainment items include a nesting cocktail table with a Watercress stone top and a metal frame, a drum table with a stone insert top and a Pleated Driftwood base and a cocktail table and coordinating martini table.
