Ekornes Launches Stressless Dining at High Point

Ekornes, Inc. recently announced that it will bring patented Stressless comfort and functionality to the dining experience with this year’s newest product: Stressless Dining. Stressless dining chairs are equipped with BalanceAdapt to respond to the body’s movements and automatically adjust the seat and back position, without levers or handles.
“Stressless dining chairs bring perfectly balanced comfort to the dining room,” explains Peter Bjerregaard, Ekornes, Inc. president. “When you lean forward to eat, the seat angle adjusts automatically and reduces the pressure under your legs while supporting your back. If you want to relax completely, you can lean back. The seat will slide forward so that you get a more open and comfortable sitting position. It’s completely unique in the marketplace.”
Since the introduction of the first Stressless recliners in 1971, Ekornes has been perfecting Stressless comfort. The Stressless recliner was introduced as a response to the television coming into the living room. Since the brand’s inception, over 8.5 million Stressless seats have been sold worldwide. Today the way consumers utilize the space in their homes has changed, and Stressless continues to adapt and evolve accordingly.
“We have seen that the pattern of room use has changed, and the kitchen really has merged with the living room. We are spending more time around the dining table, which has become the new gathering place for family and friends. With that comes the need to sit comfortably and be able to adjust your chair’s seating position for ultimate comfort and ergonomics,” says Bjerregaard.
Stressless dining chairs are completely customizable and come in four cushion designs, with high or low back options and two leg base choices. Chairs are available in a wide range of fabric and leather and four colors of wood. Dining tables feature two leg choices, three wood finishes and two different leaf-insert systems. Stressless Dining will be in stores in fall 2018.
