One Kings Lane Announces New York City Flagship Store Opening

One Kings Lane, the digitally-led destination for making the home an expression of personal style, reports that this fall it will open its first New York City shop in a 200-year-old house in the heart of Soho. After nine years as an e-commerce retailer and following last year’s successful first shop opening in Southampton, NY, the New York City flagship will be located at the landmarked 143 Spring Street in Soho.

One Kings Lane Soho will be housed in the Federal-style building at the corner of Wooster and Spring Streets. 143 Spring Street is believed to be the oldest building in Soho, dating back to 1818. Originally built as a residence, the property underwent substantial changes in structure and occupancy, in 1850 was converted into a commercial location, and in 2010 received a modern glass addition, bringing it to 3,500 square feet of shoppable retail space.

“We are so thrilled to be opening our New York City flagship in Soho this fall. Our first shop, which opened in Southampton last summer, set the tone for this next opening and future stores to come. It was extremely important to us to find the right space - one that has deep roots in the local community and could provide the perfect backdrop for the storytelling we do around our product,” said Debbie Propst, president of One Kings Lane. “As a brand that’s all about the mix, finding a space that includes some of the oldest and newest construction in Soho is a perfect fit for us.”

The One Kings Lane shop experience has a three-part foundation:

A localized and living assortment - The shops feature a product assortment curated to fit the aesthetic of the neighborhood and as products sell, they are constantly replaced with new and different items. “We don’t deliver floorsets, we decorate to entertain and inspire our customer on every visit,” said Propst.

  2. The makings of your mix - As a brand that believes everyone has their own unique style mix, which their home should represent, the shopping experience is all about helping customers mix a range of styles and price points, the best brands, the exclusive One Kings Lane Collection, vintage and antiques, and one-of-a-kind pieces including handmade art.

  3. Professional design services - With professional designers on staff, the shop can be a resource for customers and the interior design community alike, from picking out a single piece to furnishing an entire home.
