Furniture World News Desk on 6/6/2018

Mattress manufacturer King Koil recently announced that it has hired Jason Zachariasen as a sales representative covering the Pacific Northwest. A 14-year bedding industry veteran, Zachariasen reports to Howard Galant, executive vice president of sales for the Western Division.

Zachariasen most recently was senior territory manager at Serta Simmons Bedding, where he developed and grew the western Washington state territory from his home base in Seattle. Prior to joining the manufacturing side of the mattress business, he held several key roles, including vice president of sales, at Missoula, Montana-based retailer Sleep City.

“Jason’s deep industry knowledge and strong retail relationships will enable him to make immediate contributions in this important territory,” said David Binke, King Koil chief executive officer. “He is the latest addition to a potent team of sales professionals that we’re building throughout the country as we implement our new domestic manufacturing business model,”

Zachariasen’s territory is part of region served by King Koil’s new factory in the Phoenix suburb of Avondale, Arizona. The 90,000 square-foot plant services retailers in 17 Western states, as well as Alaska and Hawaii. King Koil announced earlier this year it is shifting its domestic business model from a licensing structure to a direct-to-retail manufacturing strategy.
