Bob’s Discount Furniture Promotes Two Seasoned Executives

Furniture World News Desk on 10/19/2018

Bob’s Discount Furniture recently announced the promotions of two key executives responsible for operations and merchandising.  John Weldon, former Executive Vice President of Operations, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer.  After serving as Senior Vice President of Merchandising for over five years, Carol Glaser has been named Executive Vice President of Merchandising.

Weldon joined Bob’s Discount Furniture in 2013 as Senior Vice President of Stores, and was later promoted to Executive Vice President of Sales and Operations.  In his new role as COO, Weldon will oversee DC operations, store operations, the supply chain and customer care.  With a vast career spanning over twenty years, Weldon has previously held executive roles at various specialty retailers, where he was responsible for overall store growth.

Glaser first joined Bob’s Discount Furniture in 2008 as Divisional Merchandise Manager and most recently held the position of Senior Vice President/General Merchandise Manager. Throughout her tenure at Bob’s Discount Furniture, she has played a critical role in the evolution and development of Bob’s merchandising team, product assortment and procurement processes.  As Executive Vice President, she will continue lead the team that designs, sources, and selects product offerings, assuring that each item is of high quality and that all sources comply with the company’s social and environmental standards.  In addition, Glaser’s team is responsible for ordering and flowing inventory.
