Bob’s Discount Furniture Donates $256,000 to Hunger-Relief Organizations

Bob’s Discount Furniture recently announced a donation of $256,000 to food pantries and hunger-relief programs within its markets throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and West Coast. An organization near each of the 104 Bob’s Discount Furniture stores, five distribution centers and 19 future store locations will receive a $2,000 donation from the furniture retailer.
 
“During this season of giving, we are excited to support food pantries in our communities for the fifth year in a row,” said Bob Kaufman, president emeritus and co-founder of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We know that many people struggle to feed their families and we’re hoping these donations help stop hunger this holiday season.”
 
Throughout the year, the Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation supports many children and youth service organizations. As the holidays approach, the retailer will spread its charitable arm to support those in need, providing necessary funds to local food pantries in the fight to end hunger.
 
"For the past 4 years Bob's Discount Furniture has supported us with generous donations at Thanksgiving time", said Brett Meyers, Executive Director of Nourish Now, based in Montgomery County, Maryland. "Our goal again this year is to provide all the food for a Thanksgiving feast - complete with enough for leftovers - for 5000 people in our county as part of the County's Holiday Giving Program. This year's $2,000 gift will be great support for us as we help ensure everyone can celebrate this holiday."
