Stressless CHAIRity Promotion Benefits Charities Across U.S.

Ekornes Inc announced this week that they will offer Stressless customers a discount of $200 on select furniture with a $50 donation to a charity of their choice. Ekornes, Norwegian maker of ergonomic Stressless recliners, sofas and dining furniture, has been offering this seasonal ‘CHAIRity’ promotion since 2007, which is available at dealers nationwide. Through its national network of about 500 Stressless dealers, Ekornes raised over $300,000 for charity last year through this giving program.

PTS Furniture, an authorized Stressless dealer of almost nine years, located in Thousand Oaks, California, has built a relationship of more than 20 years with Senior Concerns, a local organization that provides services and assistance to seniors and their family caregivers. PTS donated over $1,000 last year to support this worthwhile Southern California community program and hopes to increase that number this year.

“So many of us are affected in one way or another by aging loved ones and, in some cases, someone with Alzheimer’s Disease,” said Maureen Holm, co-owner of PTS Furniture. “Senior Concerns has been a wonderful organization assisting families with the struggles of caring for someone that is aging and needs additional care.”

Senior Concerns services to the elderly and their families include an Adult Day Program for seniors with cognitive or physical impairment, Meals On Wheels, a Caregiver Support Center, legal, financial and advocacy services, and volunteer and community activities. The nonprofit organization serves eastern Ventura County and western Los Angeles County.

“We are truly grateful for the support from PTS Furniture,” said Andrea Gallagher, president of Senior Concerns. “PTS Furniture’s generosity provides vital funding for Senior Concerns’ programs for seniors and family caregivers in the community.”

The CHAIRity promotion runs from November 21 to January 14 and can be applied to any Stressless recliner and ottoman, Stressless office, Stressless sofa or Ekornes Collection, dining table or set of four dining chairs. Not limited to Senior Concerns, the discount also applies with donations to other charitable organizations.
