Furniture World News Desk on 3/20/2019

Las Vegas Design Center and the California Central/Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) announced that theyare accepting specially-priced “early bird” entries for the fifth annual ANDYZ design awards through March 30. The ANDYZ awards, which recognize and celebrate noteworthy projects by interior designers, architects and design students in 10 interior design categories, will be presented during a celebration at Summer 2019 Las Vegas Market, running July 28 – Aug. 1, 2019.

“Las Vegas Design Center is delighted to extend its commitment to the design community by once again teaming up with ASID to offer the ANDYZ awards,” said Dorothy Belshaw, executive vice president, chief marketing and digital officer for International Market Centers. “LVDC and Las Vegas Market provides residential, commercial and hospitality designers a single destination to shop and source the latest high-quality and fashion-forward furnishings and accessories to meet the unique needs of their clients.”

The ANDYZ Awards, named to bear a resemblance to “Annual Nevada Design,” were created in 2015 to recognize exceptional design from designers and design firms. Interior design projects in residential, commercial and hospitality categories will be judged by a panel of ASID board members and by an editorial member from first-time media sponsor Furniture, Lighting and Décor on five main criteria: presentation; innovation/creative use of space; scale and functionality; aesthetics and overall execution.

The 2019 ANDYZ awards will be presented in 10 categories: Best Custom Furnishings/Product Design, not including a manufacturer’s product; Best Residential Kitchen Design; Best Residential Bathroom Design; Best Residential Outdoor Space Design; Best Individual Residential Space Design, such as a bedroom, media room, living room, laundry room or garage, not including a kitchen bathroom or outdoor space; Best Multiple Residential Space Design, spaces within the same residence; Best Commercial Space Design; Best Hospitality Space Design; Best Showroom Design and Best Student Design, for students currently enrolled in 2018/2019.

“Early bird” entry fees are $100 for the first entry and $75 for each additional entry; early bird student fees are $25 per entry. Fees for entries received after March 31 are $125 for the first entry and $100 for each additional submission; student entries are $35. There is no limit to the number of entries that may be submitted. For official entry forms, contest rules and guidelines, please visit: http://cacnv.asid.org/2019andyzawards.
