Furniture World News

Houzz Inc., a platform for home remodeling and design, recently released the latest episode of “My Houzz,” an online series that follows people as they renovate the home of someone meaningful to them. In time for National Siblings Day, the episode features model and actress Kate Upton as she surprises her older sister, Christie, with a secret renovation of her home in Melbourne, Florida. The episode is available to watch now at houzz.com/myhouzz.

Working with Andrea and Rik Fava of Motivo Home, a design-build firm from the Houzz community, Upton transforms Christie’s master suite into a retreat for her and her husband, Matt, where they can take time for themselves. She also renovates their home office and guest bathroom to create a space that is modern and well suited for Christie’s growing family.

“Christie always takes care of everyone around her and puts herself last, so I wanted to do something meaningful for her,” said Upton. “Houzz is such a great tool - it made it easy to find an amazing design-build firm, share my ideas with them and buy the perfect products on the Houzz Shop to create a space Christie loves. I’m blown away with the renovation, and so happy to give her a place to relax and rejuvenate.”

Prior episodes of “My Houzz” have featured Ashton Kutcher, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Gordon Ramsay, Kyrie Irving, Jenna Fischer, Ludacris, Clay Matthews, Mario Lopez, Olivia Munn, Tony Hawk, Deshaun Watson and Neil Patrick Harris. Each episode documents a well-known public figure as they surprise someone who has made a difference in their life with the gift of a renovation, using Houzz throughout the journey.

More information on Upton’s inspiration and Houzz ideabooks, as well as products and materials used in the renovation, are available on Houzz at www.houzz.com/myhouzz.
“My Houzz” was shot for Houzz by Shed Media and was executive produced by Ashton Kutcher, Pam Healey, John Hesling, Bill Gaudsmith and Dan Pierson.
