American Society of Interior Designers Relaunches ASID Academy

Furniture World News Desk on 6/11/2019

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) announced that it has created a fresh platform for the ASID Academy, a state-of-the-art, online, continuing education experience. The platform has been enhanced and redesigned to embody the ASID Academy’s core mission of providing a user-friendly, streamlined education resource for the design profession.

“We are thrilled to announce the redesign and relaunch of the ASID Academy,” states Randy Fiser, Hon. FASID, CEO, ASID. “The new Academy is optimized for user experience and offers an essential resource to the design industry. Complete with a wide variety of webinars and online courses, the ASID Academy is now equipped with a dynamic, responsive digital platform to continually impact lives through design education.”

Mobile-friendly and accessible, the new site allows ASID to offer the same high-quality education content while maintaining an adaptive interface for visitors to learn anytime, anywhere, at their own pace. An online catalog of resources encompassing courses, webinars, and more is now offered as an easily accessible collection. The new landing page enables users to access IDCEC and AIA-approved CEUs broken down by relevant topics, including: Institutional, Business of Design, Health & Wellness, Residential, Healthcare, Workplace, Hospitality & Retail, and more. For ASID members, the Academy’s dedication to user experience goes a step further and will directly report CEU credits to IDCEC on their behalf.

Course listings include an overview, information about the presenter, and several components and quizzes to gauge the individual’s understanding of the topic as they progress through the content. After completing each component and passing a quiz, a certificate of completion is available for download.

About ASID: The American Society of Interior Designers believes that design transforms lives. ASID serves the full range of the interior design profession and practice through the Society’s programs, networks, and advocacy. We thrive on the strength of cross-functional and interdisciplinary relationships among designers of all specialties, including workplace, healthcare, retail and hospitality, education, institutional, and residential. We lead interior designers in shared conversations around topics that matter: from evidence-based and human-centric design to social responsibility, well-being, and sustainability. We showcase the impact of design on the human experience and the value interior designers provide.

ASID was founded over 40 years ago when two organizations became one, but its legacy dates back to the early 1930s. As we celebrate nearly 85 years of industry leadership, we are leading the future of interior design, continuing to integrate the advantages of local connections with national reach, of small firms with big, and of the places we live with the places we work, play, and heal.
