High Point Premarket Committee Announces Lineup for Spring Event

Furniture World News Desk on 2/13/2020

The High Point Premarket Committee has finalized its list of sponsoring showrooms for the spring 2020 event, scheduled for March 16-17. Consisting of 17 sponsors, the list includes 15 returning exhibitors from fall and 2 new exhibitors.

A biannual tradition, Premarket is designed to provide a select group of furniture retailers with a precursory look at the product introductions set to debut at the upcoming High Point Market. These extended appointments allow attending retailers to experience a more in-depth showroom visit and frees up their schedule when they return to High Point during Market to be able to visit other vendors, thus allowing them to visit a larger group of exhibitors overall.

New for spring, the Premarket committee has added Leather Italia USA and New Classic Furniture to the list of sponsoring exhibitors.

“We believe that this may be the largest Premarket in years," said Doug Bassett, chairman of the Premarket Committee and president of Vaughan-Bassett Furniture. "Many dealers are telling us that they had to cancel winter and spring trips to Asia because of the coronavirus.  With our expanded line-up of Premarket sponsors, we are urging dealers to come to High Point in March to see the latest introductions."

Sponsoring exhibitors for spring 2020 include:

  • A.R.T. Furniture, Inc.
  • Aspenhome
  • Austin Group Furniture
  • Avalon Furniture
  • Bernhardt Furniture
  • Hillsdale Furniture
  • Hooker Furniture
  • La-Z-Boy Casegoods Divisions
  • Leather Italia USA
  • Legacy Classic Furniture
  • New Classic Furniture
  • Pulaski Furniture
  • Riverside Furniture
  • Samuel Lawrence Furniture
  • Universal Furniture
  • Vanguard Furniture
  • Vaughan-Bassett Furniture

Premarket takes place each spring and fall, about 6 weeks in advance of High Point Market. Each sponsoring exhibitor commits to providing a near market-ready amount of product. They also pool resources to bring selected retailers for a preview of goods and the opportunity for final tweaking of product details. The event is organized by a committee of sponsoring showrooms, who then contracts with the High Point Market Authority to provide strategic direction, staffing, and logistical support.

Designed as an invite-only event, attendees consist of furniture retailer stores who are existing clients of the sponsoring showrooms. Retailers interested in attending a future event should contact the sponsoring manufacturers with which they currently do business to discuss.
