AHFA Solution Partners Board Cancels 30th Annual Education Golf Tournament

The Board of Directors of the American Home Furnishings Alliance Solution Partners division has voted to cancel its 30th Annual Education Golf Tournament. The decision comes amid ongoing concerns related to COVID-19 combined with current North Carolina restrictions that would impact the event scheduled September 30, 2020, at Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory, N.C.
The Solution Partners Education Golf Tournament was first held in 1990. After 10 annual tournaments, the first four scholarships were awarded in 2000. It is the only scholarship program that helps fund a college or vocational school education for the children of industry workers. Since 2000, 115 students from 43 different companies across the United States have received financial assistance to further their education.
“We had planned to make the 30th annual tournament a very festive occasion to commemorate the remarkable impact this program has had within our industry over the last three decades,” said Solution Partners Board Chair Heather Corrigan, furniture marketing manager for Lectra. “In addition to the funds raised for educational initiatives, including the scholarship program, the tournament has always highlighted the meaningful camaraderie within AHFA’s Solution Partners division and our industry as a whole. We will definitely miss that.”
