New Ownership at Magnolia Upholstery Designs Speeds Things Up

The new owners of Magnolia, Hector Mustafa, Ron Cooper, and Kevin Kirby, are excited to announce their partnership and share their growth vision for the company, which will adopt the new name Magnolia Upholstery Designs. Operating continuously since 1970 in Pontotoc, Mississippi, the established quick ship, medium priced upholstery manufacturer has been meeting the high demand stimulated by the covid-19 pandemic and delivering faster than anyone else.

“When the world shut down in April 2020 and reopened June 2020, we started selling Stacy Magnolia around the country and the growth just exploded. What began as a few trailers per week became over 200 trailers of new upholstery delivered in only 6 weeks or less, unheard of during this time,” says Ron Cooper.

“The significant relationships Kevin Kirby has made with fabric and foam suppliers allowed us a continual supply of raw materials, enabling this rapid turnaround time. With Kevin on the ground running operations, Magnolia is poised to be a strong player in the stationary upholstery world,” adds Cooper.
Retailers and consumers will benefit from Magnolia’s new pocketed seating coils as well as the quick ship advantage. The local Mississippi community has already seen rewards of the new ownership with the retention of 60 jobs and the addition of 50 new ones expected in the next 30 days.

Together Ron Cooper and Hector Mustafa have over 50 years of in-depth experience in all aspects of furniture including, promotions, marketing, sales agents including their own retail stores and now manufacturing. They are also business partners of PMP Sales and Closeouts & More. Kevin Kirby, having started in 2008 at Ashley Furniture, has a long history working in production management there, along with Flexsteel, and he also resides in Mississippi.
