True customized décor items from furnishings to artwork will be showcased as Barnes Custom Upholstery and Itinerant Studio join forces to open a new showroom prior to the High Point Markets. To be located in the popular Hamilton Wrenn Design District at 410 N. Wrenn Street, the joint showroom will feature new introductions as well as examples of bespoke items and processes from the artisans of both companies. The 1,700 square foot showroom has been intentionally planned as a destination for designers who are looking for custom products.

“We are extremely excited about our collaboration with Itinerant Studio as we are two like-minded companies with a passion for each other’s products as well as for creating individualized success of interior designers,” said David Farris, owner, Barnes Custom Upholstery. “To present this, we realized a need for greater exhibit space and a venue that allowed us to become a part of the High Point experience year-around.”

Barnes Custom Upholstery, previously an exhibitor in the High Point temporaries, has been in business since 1974.  Headquartered in High Point, the custom manufacturer creates bespoke furnishings constructed by craftsmen with decades of experience in the industry.  Old world techniques and high-quality materials are used to create one-of-a-kind furnishings.  With a large catalog of custom designs, Barnes Custom Upholstery also will debut new designs during the markets including additions to its banquettes, dining chairs and bed programs.

“For Itinerant Studio, joining with Barnes Custom Upholstery in this High Point showroom was a perfect fit as well as an extension of our plan to have a greater designer presence for 2021,” said Vicki Rulli, owner and artist for Itinerant Studio with her husband, Tom. “Both of our companies understand creating custom products. We are laser focused on getting the message out to designers of the endless options we can offer in customization of home décor products.”

As an Art House based in Springfield, OH, Itinerant Studio offers original and limited-edition artwork, trays, and occasional tables for indoors and outdoors. All work is sustainably produced with every image and artwork piece creating a great story for designers through the custom choices of media and substrate. New for this season will be additional artwork, designer tables, consoles and coffee tables.

For both concerns, the new showroom will promote a shared custom message of all products being made in the USA, available for residential or commercial customers and with no minimums.  Additionally, all custom furniture from Barnes is white labeled enabling designers to market as their own designs and/or possibly avoid the occurrence of any comp shopping.
