  • Marty's Party: Many of you know our dear friend, Marty Berk. Marty, who has been a rep for many years, serves on the IHFRA Board of Directors as 2nd Vice President of the Executive Committee and is a HUGE proponent of IHFRA's mission. Marty is also a member of our sister association, ICFA (the International Casual Furniture Association)

A little over a year ago, Marty was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis or "Lou Gehrig's Disease). He recently had to retire from each of his lines, as it has become impossible for him to work. The new wheelchair he needs weighs about 460 pounds and is difficult to manage, but with a handicap-accessible van, he could still get out and enjoy the world. These vans, even used ones, do not come with a small price tag.

IHFRA would like to honor Marty, celebrate who he is and all he has done for his fellow reps and the home furnishings industry, and raise money to help with the purchase of a van.

Please join us for "Marty Party" on Saturday, October 16, 6:00 - 9 pm at the Brown Truck Brewery on N Main Street in High Point. For IHFRA members, the first 2 drinks are FREE - you'll need your lapel pin to show you are an active member. Guests and all friends of Marty are welcome to join us! There will be food trucks available, and Sweet Old Bills is right next door with some great food. We'll have live music and might be able to coax Ray Allegrezza and a few other furniture folks onto the stage. Marty will join us via live stream.

There is also a GoFund Me page set up for Marty's van. You can click here to access the page, and you'll be able to access it from the party as well. RSVP Here.

  • IHFRA Legal Advice: IHFRA Attorney Adam Glazer will be in attendance and is offering complimentary and private 20-minute meetings to IHFRA reps on Monday, October 18th starting at 8:00 am. To schedule an appointment with Adam, e-mail him directly at adam.glazer@sfbbg.com.

  • Why IHFRA Video: We are creating a new video to be featured on our website and our Social Media pages all about why you joined IHFRA. If you love IHFRA as much as we do, we want you to tell us why! Swing by the office so we can include you in our video!

  • COVID-19 Testing: If you wish to be tested for COVID-19 while at High Point Market, IMC's preferred vendor is Bethany Medical, with two nearby locations to serve Market guests (819 N. Main Street or 507 Lindsay Street). Both Rapid Antigen and PCR tests are available. They are $150 each, or, if you desire both, the cost is $200.

Advanced reservations are strongly encouraged. Please visit this link - https://bit.ly/bethanycovid - and complete the form.

Please provide your name, phone number (be sure to select country of origin if international), and email address.

When asked to select a location, select “COVID-19 & Flu Testing” instead of a location.

You will be contacted by phone within 24 hours to secure a time slot at either the N Main St or Lindsay St location, whichever can serve you faster.

Once tested, results are guaranteed within 48-72 hours. They will be emailed to the address you provided with the form. Go Anywhere shuttles can be utilized to get individuals to the testing site. Please call 336-887-RIDE (7433) to request a shuttle.

The IHFRA team can also help you schedule a free COVID test through our local pharmacies- Walgreens and CVS. These are first come, first serve. Please come by the IHFRA office or contact Steve or Bonnie to schedule a test today.

Located on the lower level of IHFC Main, the IHFRA office will be open from 9am - 5pm daily Tuesday, October 12 through Thursday, October 21. To see the full list of events, see their email blast to members here.
