Non-Profit Animal Rescue Foundation Looking for High Point Market Donations

Furniture World News Desk on 10/12/2017

A North Carolina non-profit animal rescue foundation is asking exhibitors at the High Point Market for any unwanted furniture or bedding that becomes available after the market.

Those items will be auctioned at an annual fundraiser hosted by Whiskers Rescue Foundation (WRF), a group founded in 2016 to address the needs of animals in the Yadkin County and surrounding areas.
According to founder Alice Hinson Singh, Whiskers Rescue Foundation, which has a 501c3 Federal exemption status, was created with the goal of “enhancing and bettering the lives of animals.”

With programs providing housing to animals in cold seasons, unchaining dogs with fence builds, issuing medical and spay/neuter vouchers and more, WRF is in the process of establishing its own facility to house all of those programs while also adding medical care, grooming, and rescue housing provided by the group’s staff and volunteers.

“As someone who has always had a heart for animals, I’ve spent years assisting the community in raising funds and awareness of local animal clinics and shelters,” Hinson Singh said.

Prior to launching WRF, she has worked with veterinarians to give out discounted medical vouchers and referred services when needed.

Networking with the community, Hinson Singh has been able to hold a very successful annual fundraiser, Whiskers & Wine Summer Social, which benefits local animal rescue efforts.

The group’s most recent event, held this past September at Hanover Park Vineyard, in Yadkinville, was a success, in part, due to the generous donations of a number of home furnishings companies including Klaussner, Therapedic, Magnussen and others.

“The home furnishings industry helped make our event very successful and the funds we raised by auctioning those donations is already being used to care for animals in need” Alice explained. “That’s why we are asking the industry to donate any and all unwanted home furnishings to help us help local animals who are in need.”
