Furniture World News Desk on 12/23/2017

Las Vegas Market and The International Surface Event recently announced a new partnership for the upcoming 2018 shows created to benefit the retail and design community.

TISE is comprised of three premier tradeshows — SURFACES, StonExpo/Marmomac, and TileExpo — and is a leading industry marketplace for floor covering, stone, and tile industry professionals. During the parallel days of the Las Vegas Market, The International Surface Event will offer a four-day preview of the newest products, hands-on demos, inspiring trends, key manufacturers, industry suppliers and numerous education and networking opportunities. The collaborative effort provides buyers with free and continuous shuttle service between the two exhibit venue's markets – the World Market Center Las Vegas and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center – on Tuesday, January 30, and Wednesday, January 31, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, as well as free access to both event's event floors good for the entire span of both events. Registration is free, although attendees will be required to register separately for each show.

“Las Vegas Market is pleased to collaborate with The International Surface Event and its three major floor coverings trade shows – SURFACES, StonExpo/Marmomac and TileExpo – to provide visitors to both events with new shopping opportunities within related merchandise categories,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift Leasing and Chief Marketing Officer, International Market Centers. “Cooperation between our two events will afford retailers and interior designers with access to Las Vegas Market’s 4,000+ furniture, gift and home décor resources, as well as some 800 top floor covering brands exhibiting at TISE. Additionally, this partnership will bring more visitors to Las Vegas Market, providing our tenants with new potential sources of business, new channels of retail distribution and new connections with buyers. As the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market is committed to providing our customers with value-added services that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the market experience.”

The partnership between Las Vegas Market and TISE will facilitate cross shopping by buyers in related home product categories. The Winter 2018 Las Vegas Market runs January 28 to February 1, 2018, at World Market Center Las Vegas, and The International Surface Event runs January 29 to February 1, 2018, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

“The International Surface Event is pleased to offer a partnership with the Las Vegas Winter Market,” said Amie Gilmore, Show Director, The International Surface Event. “This partnership will offer the widest breath of product offerings and inspiration for interior designers and retailers. We understand that time is valuable to every business professional, and offering this opportunity to expand the buying and sourcing possibilities concurrently between the events in Las Vegas will optimize the experiences and benefit both event’s attendees. We look forward to hosting Las Vegas Market attendees at TISE 2018.”

Each organization will cross-promote the partnership to its attendees, including interior designers, as well as retailers who sell or specify flooring, stone, countertops, surface materials, and home furnishings.
