Each room examined includes a blend of full-page color photography, history, technical drawings, a breakdown of the architectural details inside the room, commentary on each element and how it fits within the room’s particular style. Readers will learn the design aspects associated with the Georgian and Federal periods and how to replicate the look using historic paneling, moldings, mantels and more. History enthusiasts will find the stories behind each room fascinating. They will learn who designed and built each room, where the previous home was located, the occupation of its original owner, and more.
