The Greater New York Home Furnishings Association (GNYHFA) announced that Neil Goldberg, Michael Goldberg and Steven Goldberg of Raymour & Flanigan will be accepting the Jerry Gans Memorial Award for 2009.

The award honors prominent members of the furniture industry for distinguished service and is presented each year by the Greater New York Home Furnishings Association at a formal dinner and dance. This year’s award will be presented at Terrace on The Park in Flushing Meadow Park, Queens, NY on November 21st.

Raymour & Flanigan is the largest furniture retailer in the Northeast, operating 82 retail showrooms, plus eight clearance centers, 17 customer service centers and two distribution centers throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

The Goldberg family will be accepting the award on behalf of the entire Raymour & Flanigan organization and its 4,000 talented associates.

“We are so pleased that the Goldberg Family will be accepting the Gans award this year for the Raymour & Flanigan organization,” said Barbara Goldstein, Executive Director, GNYHFA. “These three exceptional executives are well known in our industry for their business leadership, integrity, support of the home furnishings industry and philanthropic causes.”

Andy Gans, Chairman of the Dinner Dance Committee added, “I know my father would be proud to have his name associated with the Goldberg family. These exceptional people really care about the good name of their company and are concerned about the welfare of their suppliers, employees, customers and the environment."

Current CEO and President Neil Goldberg joined the family business in 1972, immediately following his graduation from Syracuse University. Soon after, current Executive Vice Presidents Steven Goldberg and Michael Goldberg joined the company.

Says Neil Goldberg, “The Goldberg Family is honored to receive this award on behalf of our associates. Without question, we earned this distinction because of the collective contributions of our valued associates to serve our customer with passion, unwavering focus and professionalism—every day we are committed to enhancing our customers’ shopping experience. Our people truly are our greatest asset.”
