Formed by the merger of six specialized furniture carriers in 2008, Worldwide Logistics announced that it has added  a 250,000 square foot distribution center in Riverside, California to expand its ability to serve U.S. and Canadian furniture manufacturers, importers and retailers.

“Scheduled to go online on October 1, 2009, this new, modern facility empowers us to serve even more clients with 10-day delivery to any point within the United States,” says Pat Smith, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Worldwide Logistics. “In addition, it increases the space we have available for warehousing our customers’ stock positions and enhances our cross-docking capabilities at a strategic U.S. entry point.”

Employing an asset-based model that includes a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled consolidation facility in Vietnam, plus strategic locations in California, Washington, Wisconsin, Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Virginia and North Carolina, Worldwide Logistics offers its clients “Asia to the home” service with tight security, exceptional quality control and superior tracking capabilities. Ownership of the entire chain of custody allows the company to pick up from multiple production points, consolidate shipments for maximum efficiency and deliver its clients’ goods quickly, safely and cost effectively.

“Our mission is to provide complete transportation solutions that set new standards in the residential and office furnishings industries,” concludes Smith. “Successfully achieving this objective since the 2008 merger, our exceptional growth has led to this expansion. Now, with this new warehousing and distribution facility, more furniture makers and importers throughout the U.S. and Canada can enjoy industry-best 3PL services.”
