Schnadig International Corp. announced that it has undergone a total transformation.  The new leadership team says that it has applied its keen sense of fashion to all of the company’s five portfolios in a revamped, redesigned showroom featuring all new products.

The evolution began in April with the Kaleidoscope Collection and new branding as first steps toward repositioning the company as well as a move toward redefining the meaning of value at the high end for the industry.

“The entire design team was challenged to take a creative new approach to product design relating directly to the target market of each brand,” says Jeff Young, Schnadig chairman and CEO.  “Each portfolio reflects its own personality in a series of lifestyle vignettes, complete with zoned music to awaken the senses and to help our customers better understand their consumer.”

Of special note is the introduction of the newest Schnadig portfolio, Caracole, which offers distinctive pieces presented loosely in three style categories.

“In Caracole, the presentation will be chic and fluid, projecting a cosmopolitan point of view. Each room will speak to a current color story with a blending of pieces from the three style collections, which were literally designed separately as if collected over time,” says Melanie Dunn, creative director for Schnadig. “As with the conception of the whole portfolio, there is a concerted intent to show how to mix the pieces visually with marketing aids to help consumers and retail store associates mix the three style categories with total confidence.”

The personalities of the five portfolios are:

  • Caracole:  Taking a beautiful turn in a new direction, it is a sophisticated new genre of distinctive pieces offering a surprising mix generally only found at the high end.
  • Compositions: Collections of upholstery, occasional tables and eclectic accents offer generous styling that is ever opulent, curvaceous, luxurious and aspirational.
  • Lauren Ralph Lauren: From classic to modern, Lauren Furniture offers the finest materials and finishes for a world of elegance and style.
  • Schnadig:  Family friendly, affordable upholstery that is inviting with a tasteful touch of flair and the best of everything.
  • Schndaig Home: A sophisticated whole home approach to classic and contemporary styling, in a palette created for modern day comfort.

To unveil Schnadig’s new approach to original design focused on specific consumers, the company will host an intimate opening on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in their showroom located at IHFC, Commerce 500. It will feature live alternative jazz musicians and cosmopolitan fare.

With a keen sense of fashion, Schnadig International Corporation is redefining the high end and setting new standards of value through fresh design, high quality standards, and new merchandising and marketing programs. The company offers five distinctive portfolios – Caracole, Compositions, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Schnadig and Schnadig Home – which cross multiple price points for all furniture categories including upholstery, case goods, occasional tables and accent pieces.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Markor International Furniture Co., Ltd., a world class furniture manufacturing and furniture retail operation based in China, the company is a vertically integrated resource with 13 modern manufacturing plants and a state-of-the-art centrally located, global distribution center. As noted in its CLASS Pledge, Schnadig is able to deliver a simple sourcing solution: mixed containers from any portfolio in any combination, delivered on time at competitive shipping rates.

The acquisition of Schnadig by Markor was completed on January 5, 2009.  Incorporated in 1952 by Lawrence K. Schnadig, the company has a solid foundation beginning with the merging of S. Karpen & Brothers, which was established in 1880, and International Furniture Company, which was founded at the turn of the twentieth century.
