Capel Rugs, America’s oldest and largest privately owned rug manufacturer and importer, announced the launch of its “Trade In, Trade Up" event taking place at its company-owned stores nationwide. Today through October 31, shoppers who bring a gently used rug to the store will receive a coupon for 25% off the purchase of a new rug. All donations benefit local Habitat for Humanity affiliates.
The donated rugs will end up at Habitat for Humanity ReStores for resale. ReStores are open to the public and sell goods at significantly reduced prices. All proceeds from the stores help build homes in partnership with working families in need of quality, affordable housing in the community.
Ron Capel, Retail Managing Director of Capel Rugs, said that Capel Rugs and its employees believe deeply in the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
“We’ve seen a difficult couple years for individuals in the communities in which we live and work,” said Capel. “Using our stores to help an organization like Habitat for Humanity not only helps our neighbors now, but gives them the opportunity to build a better future.”
The timing for the event was planned around the season Capel Rugs stores typically see the most rug sales.
“Partnering with Habitat means that consumers who have been thinking about replacing a rug now have a really great reason to do it,” explains Capel. “It’s a time when our customers are sprucing up their homes for friends and family and also a time when it feels particularly good to be helping out in the community.”
Consumers can take advantage of Capel Rugs’ “Trade In, Trade Up” offer at its retail stores in Charlotte, NC; Troy, NC; Greenville, NC; Dallas, TX; Memphis, TN; Richmond, VA; Greenville, SC; and Indianapolis, IN. Shoppers will receive up to four coupons for their donations, but may donate as many rugs as they wish. A tax receipt will be provided for each donated rug that is deemed re-usable.
