News Channel 2, wktv.com reported that the Watertown and Utica, NY based retailer Carl's Furniture City, "must pay $15,000 in fines for undelivered furniture and engaging in what is being called "a deceptive marketing scheme" with "free grocery and cruise."

The story also noted that, the lawfirm (for Carl's Furniture City) said that no administrative or court proceeding ever began to determine whether the Attorney General's allegations were true. The lawfirm states that instead, the parties reached a mutual agreement where Carl's Furniture agreed to pay a $15,000 fine to the State of New York, stop the use of certain promotional offers, and provide disclosures to all customers who held store credit for furniture that was not delivered within the original specified range of dates."
