Opening Night WMC Las Vegas Celebration To Join Fine Food & Furnishings

World Market Center announced that “Alfresco, A Taste of Las Vegas” will premiere exclusively on opening night of Winter Las Vegas Market, Feb. 1 - 3. Attendees will indulge their senses in a truly memorable culinary experience where the worlds of exquisite flavors and fine home furnishings will collide. In addition to experiencing the flavors of some of Las Vegas’ most well-known chefs, attendees will have the opportunity to watch these top chefs in action with live demonstrations and engaging video montages.

 

“World Market Center Las Vegas is a trend setter for home décor while these prominent restaurateurs have made Las Vegas the epicenter of the world’s culinary scene. ‘Alfresco, a Taste of Las Vegas’ is the perfect way to merge the trendsetting food and furnishings of Las Vegas at the upcoming February Market,” said Robert Maricich, president and chief executive officer of World Market Center Las Vegas. “Following on the heels of the groundbreaking ECOngress and leading into a week filled with thousands of new product introductions, this opening night event will certainly demonstrate the true flavor and innovative style of World Market Center Las Vegas.”

 

Attendees will enjoy the fresh, open air and culinary delights of “Alfresco, a Taste of Las Vegas,” Monday, February 1 in the expansive Grand Plaza at World Market Center Las Vegas. Lush chaise lounges and chairs by roaring decorative fire pits provide the perfect ambiance of an outdoor living room in the center of vibrant Las Vegas. It’s an opening night party attendees won’t forget, as they sample culinary creations while rediscovering the joy of dining Alfresco.

 

Restaurant participants will include an eclectic variety of distinguished chefs each from signature Las Vegas restaurants. Four celebrity chefs and nine restaurants will be participating in this premiere event.

 

A host of fine dining and lifestyle magazines including Bon Appetit, Wine Spectator, Gourmet, Robb Report and Esquire all have honored Las Vegas for its fantastic fare and hailed individual restaurants for their exquisite cuisine.  Now World Market Center Las Vegas is bringing that experience to Las Vegas Market attendees—a true ‘comp’ for being our guests.

 

Celebrity chef Kerry Simon is executive chef and proprietor to Simon at Palms Place. An original chef on the Las Vegas scene, Simon was named “One of America’s Greatest Chefs” by Rolling Stone magazine. He has also appeared on the television show “Iron Chef America” and has made other appearances on shows such as “Fine Living’s What Makes It Tick”. Simon at Palms Place is an earth-friendly restaurant, employing sustainable materials such as bamboo, slate and stone.

 

Born and raised in Saitama, Japan, Chef Nobu Matsuhisa is chief proprietor of NOBU, which has locations around the world, including the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Nobu, named one of America’s “10 Best New Chefs” by Food and Wine Magazine was inducted into “Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America” by the James Beard Foundation and has been nominated nine times for “Outstanding Chef” by the James Beard Foundation.

 

Celebrity chef and restaurateur Alessandro Stratta is the executive chef and owner of ALEX at Wynn Las Vegas. Stratta has competed on the television show “Iron Chef USA” and was the recipient of the James Beard Foundation award for “Best Chef Southwest” in 1998.

 

Italian chef Paul Bartolotta’s Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare at Wynn Las Vegas was named one of the “Best New Restaurants in America” by Esquire magazine and in 2006 was nominated as “Best New Restaurant” by the James Beard Foundation.

Celebrated chef Hubert Keller opened the French inspired Fleur de Lys Restaurant in Mandalay Bay in 2004. Fleur de Lys was dubbed “hands down the best fine dining in Las Vegas” by Bon Appétit magazine and named one of the “Top 25 Restaurants in America by Food & Wine Magazine.

 

Famous for its fresh seafood and succulent steaks, the Chart House Restaurant is new to Las Vegas and recently opened at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.

 

Joe’s Seafood Prime Steak and Stone Crab at the Forum Shops at Caesars opened in 2004 continuing the legacy that began almost a century ago in Miami Beach as one of the most legendary restaurants in the world.

 

Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay offers exotic cuisine with a tropical flare. The restaurant is best known for its festive, rhythmic energy, enticing its patrons with the sights and sounds of the Islands.

The Russian inspired Red Square at Mandalay Bay has been featured on the Food Network, the Travel Channel, as well as in such magazines as W and Conde Nast Traveler.
