Interior Lifestyle China 2010 announced that it will open next week on 13 October at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre for a four day show. More than 200 suppliers from 13 countries and regions including Austria, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland and the US will showcase the latest trends, designs and innovations in the world of contemporary interior lifestyle products.

Covering an exhibition space of 16,000 sqm, product groups extend from personal lifestyle to table, kitchen and household effects, furnishing & living, home and building textiles to lamps and luminaires and gift articles. Many first time exhibitors will present at the fair including Ballarini (Italy), Crystalex (Czech Republic), Jean Dubost (France), Nachtmann (Germany), Riedel (Austria) and several other brand names.

In addition to sourcing quality household items, attendees will have an exclusive opportunity to meet with and gain inspiration from top international designers as well as take part in live on-site product demonstrations including Trends Style Kitchen (C100) and Betty’s Kitchen (E120).

In an effort to introduce fresh designers as well as established ones to the Chinese market, the fair has a series of mini events. A number of highly promising local product designers have teamed up to create Talent China (C201-203), which features two displays called “Complete Design“ and “Extra Ordinary”. Designers involved in the former display include Wu Bin, Shi Chuan, Liu Feng, Hou Zhengguang, Chen Darui, Xu Min, Yan Chengxun, Wu Wei/Liu Yinan, Sun Yun, Pan Jie and Yang Zunjie.

The latter showcase is organised by Hou Zhengguang of Mooma Design and Ding Wei of More-Less with participating designers including Liu Chuankai, Hu Wenjie, Zhuang Shen, Yang Jidong, Liu Lidan, Wang Yang, Ding Lv, Wang Zhuoran, Wang Shanxiang, Bo Xiangwei, Huang Shengyan, Liu Yitong, Yang Wenqing, Zhou Bin, Li Xuan, Zhu Xi, Chen Pai, Huang Xinyao, Jiang Chongwu, Wang Feiruo, Zhang Lei, Wang Kailiang and Wang Yi.

What’s more several discussions revolving around the ”Aesthetics of Design and Material” are planned for next week’s show, featuring both international and local designers. These can be found throughout the halls including:

On Design Forum (E240): An international forum in which numerous designers such as Janice Kirkpatrick, Julia Landsiedl, Antonia Roth, Sounds of Silence, Mark Braun and Rianne Makkink plus several others will share their work experience, product design and impact.

Bamboo Living Bamboo Elegance (E240): A showcase organised by the magazine ‘Home Decoration’ that integrates precise bamboo-making technique, state-of-the-art bamboo design including finished bamboo products together with the relevant people from the industry.

Equally as innovative is a special tribute collection co-organised by the China Business New (CBN), the Shanghai Commodity Auction Co Ltd, TAOBAO.com and m.style magazine where local designers use raw materials provided by expo pavilions to create environmentally friendly items. Products will be auctioned for charity in Hall E101, while a majority of the auction income will be used towards purchasing carbon footprints to reduce the carbon emission index of the Shanghai World Expo.
