Furnitureland South Goes Pink To Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

The World’s Largest Home Furnishings Showplace, Furnitureland South, reported that it  has teamed with Bliss & Company Salon and Day Spa in High Point, NC, to help raise money and awareness for the fight against Breast Cancer. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness, employees of Furnitureland South will be donning pink hair extensions through the month of October. Extensions are available for $10 each, with 100% of the proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the American Cancer Society.  Representatives from Bliss & Company Salon and Day Spa will be on location at Furnitureland South Monday, October 18 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm to apply extensions for interested employees and customers.
 
In addition, Furnitureland South turned its blog pink to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness.  A link has been added to the top of the blog page (blog.furniturelandsouth.com) to direct readers to the website for the NC Triad Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure so that interested readers can learn how they can volunteer or donate to the local chapter of the Komen charity.
 
In 1991, the Susan G. Komen Foundation handed out pink ribbons to participants in the New York City race for breast cancer survivors as a symbol of unity between women who have been affected by breast cancer. Soon after, the pink ribbon became an international symbol for breast cancer awareness.
