Trend Display Ambassador, Janette Ewen

The Canadian Home Furnishings Market announced that it will celebrate its 39th anniversary this year.  From January 15 to January 18, 2011, the Market will host over 300 exhibitors showing the very latest home furnishings collections defined by high-quality, innovation and style.

The only show of its kind in Canada, the Market brings together retailers, designers, decorators and other industry professionals; helping them to gage the latest trends for their consumers while enabling them to make meaningful connections with manufacturers, suppliers and fellow retailers.  This year, one of the Market’s most popular features, the Quality Canadian Furniture Trends Display, will be introducing its first ever ambassador – décor and interior design authority, Janette Ewen.

“TCHFM truly is the original social network,” explains Jean François Michaud, Market CEO. “Attending the show adds a real perspective - the spontaneous exchange of information that occurs at the Market is an excellent way to give one’s business a competitive edge. The Market is a reliable barometer of upcoming trends that are specifically geared toward Canadian consumers.  It offers a wealth of choice to retailers who can then pick and choose the brands that truly reflect the tastes and desires of their specific clientele.  It is a wonderful opportunity to pin-point exactly what potential clients will be looking for.”

Once again this year, TCHFM will be showing its Quality Canadian Furniture Trends Display.  A hugely popular feature of the show, the displays highlight the latest trends in Canadian manufacturing as well as the high-quality of the selected pieces of furniture.  They also serve as a source of inspiration for retailers who are seeking visual cues that will attract and captivate customers’ attention.

This year, the inaugural ambassador of the Quality Canadian Furniture Trends Display will be Janette Ewen.  The décor expert’s stylish take on Canadian furniture is one of the most respected in the business.  For more than 10 years, Ewen has shared her expertise on the hottest design trends for style publications including Chatelaine, Canadian House & Home and The Globe and Mail. She is currently the co-host of the W Network’s  Inside the Box with Ty Pennington.

“Janette is the perfect choice as ambassador for the Quality Canadian Furniture Trends Display,” says Jean François Michaud. “Her enthusiasm for design and her respect for Canadian manufacturers make her the ideal match.”

“I am so thrilled to be involved,” says Ewen. “Canadian furniture has always had a special place in my heart.  It’s really an honour to be a part of this project and have the opportunity to really spread the word about the wealth of talent that we have in Canada.”
