Nevada Cancer Institute (NVCI) announced that it received a generous donation from RC Willey in honor of its “Think Pink” campaign during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Recently, RC Willey’s Summerlin store manager Jeff Glover and Henderson store manager Brad Miller presented NVCI with a $25,000 check, with all of the money benefitting cancer treatment and ground-breaking research at NVCI.

“Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States and also is one of the leading causes of cancer death among women of all races,” said Dr. John Ruckdeschel, director and CEO of NVCI. “Contributions from companies like RC Willey are crucial to NVCI’s mission to eradicate this deadly disease through pioneering treatment and research. We’re incredibly appreciative of this generous gift.”

In addition to raising money, NVCI and RC Willey encouraged employees and community members to learn more about cancer prevention, screenings, treatment and support for all types of cancer. RC Willey’s website provided customers an opportunity to pledge to “Think Pink”; it had more than 1,800 people commit to improve their lives and health.

NVCI staff and volunteers provided helpful cancer information to the Las Vegas and Henderson RC Willey stores. Outreach and education staff members also educated RC Willey employees on cancer awareness and prevention at a health fair in conjunction with the partnership.

Each RC Willey store location had free cancer awareness meetings and 'Think Pink' bracelets for customers.

“RC Willey is committed to improving the communities where we work and live,” said Jeff Glover, the RC Willey Summerlin store manager. “Sharing our resources by giving back to these communities is both a responsibility and a privilege.”

Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, RC Willey made donations to support cancer research, treatment and prevention at the primary cancer research and treatment centers in each of its markets.
