Kathy Ireland Receives Award

Gift for Life, the gift, stationery and home decor industries' leading charitable organization, announced that its Party for Life event raised more than $150,000.  The 19th Annual event was held on Sunday, January 30 at the Central Park Boathouse and welcomed more than 350 industry attendees.

The Party for Life featured food, drink, a live band and a program honoring industry leaders with three awards: the Design for Life Award presented to Kathy Ireland, the Bert Tonkin Gift of Giving Award presented to David Moses, and the Trailblazer Award presented to Mud Pie LLC founder and CEO Marcia Miller.

"We are thrilled with the generosity of the industry as we raise funds while having tremendous fun," said Jenny Hammons, Gift for Life chairperson.  "To date we have raised nearly $5 million for HIV/AIDS research and assistance through the generous help of partners and party attendees.  We look forward to seeing everyone in January 2012."

Guests competed for a wide array of prizes at a silent and live auction including jewelry, photography services, VIP tickets to a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman, VIP tickets with backstage passes for a Janet Jackson concert, and luxury accommodations in a first-class resort in Turks and Caicos.

Each year Gift for Life hosts regional events throughout the U.S. and a national fundraiser in New York City during the New York International Gift FairĀ®.  Funds benefit DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.

The primary mission of Gift for Life and DIFFA is to eradicate the AIDS pandemic in the U.S.  Working together, Gift for Life and DIFFA will continue to raise funds for HIV/AIDS service and education programs.
