38 Special Headlines Spring Stars Under the Stars Concerts at High Point Market

The High Point Market Authority announced that those “wild eyed Southern boys of Rock,”  38 Special, will be the headline act in a legendary line-up of live performances for the Spring 2011 Stars Under the Stars entertainment series at the High Point Market,
April 2-7.
 
On Saturday, April 2, the concert series kicks off with BlackHawk, sponsored by Wells Fargo Capital Finance. BlackHawk is Henry Paul on guitar, mandolin and vocals, and Dave Robbins on keyboards and vocals. They, along with third founding member Van Stephenson, exploded onto the country music landscape in 1993 with their debut smash “Goodbye Says It All.” With a dozen Top 10 hits including two number-one records to their credit and multi-platinum album sales that exceed 7 million records, they have carved out their own place in music history.
 
On Sunday, April 3, multi-platinum band 38 Special hits the stage with their unique Southern rock sound. After more than two decades together and over 20 million units sold, 38 Special still plays over 100 cities a year. And at every show, audiences are blindsided by the explosive power of the band's performance. Their many Gold and Platinum album awards stand in testament to the endurance of a legendary powerhouse band. Most associate them with their arena-rock pop smashes, such as “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You,” and “Back Where You Belong.”
 
Monday, April 4, features the funky- fresh band Sleeping Booty, bringing back their irresistible dance music. The band has opened for legendary groups such as Parliament, KC and the Sunshine Band, The B52s, Earth Wind & Fire, and Chicago.
