John Thomas Furniture Goes Digital With New E-Initiatives

John Thomas Furniture, Whitewood Industries’ casual dining division, announced the launch of a new e-initiatives that include a new website, a social networking presence and a SELECT by John Thomas video.

According to Bryan Sprinkles, John Thomas Furniture Sales and Marketing Manager, the company who has long appreciated electronic tools such as their online ordering system implemented in 2007, has launched its latest e-initiatives.

The company’s newly launched website (www.johnthomasfurniture.com), according to Sprinkles, is much easier for consumers to navigate and shop who aren’t necessarily home furnishings or online gurus.

“The new site allows visitors to shop by styles such as Transitional, Colonial, or Contemporary, by collection i.e. ‘JAVA’, or by category. If the visitor knows their style they can shop it. If they’ve seen our furnishings before and know the collection names, they can shop by collection. If they’re just looking for a chair or table, they can shop for a specific category. The site was really designed for the home furnishings novice, not the home furnishings industry.”

Sprinkles states too, that the site then leads the visitor to a ‘locate a dealer’ page where the visitor can enter their contact information and be contacted back, by John Thomas Furniture, with retailer names and locations in their area.

An additional initiative is the company’s new Facebook presence. Though being spotted on this social networking giant is not a new concept for any business, what certainly is a bit fresher is the company’s intention in having the space.

“Who hasn’t been inundated with social networking ‘have to,’ and ‘how to’ classes? Our experience though, is that very few companies, b-to-b, have successfully figured out how to utilize social networking to grow their businesses. We wanted to open a platform for retailers to talk to us, and each other, about our products. We see this as a great place for that type of open dialog. We hope to learn a lot about what is close to retailer’s hearts and minds.” 

The company, also, is premiering its new, and first ever, SELECT by John Thomas video (search youtube John Thomas Select). The video demonstrates the collection’s key advantages… customization, solid wood, company reputation, and crafted and finished in the U.S.  Dealers are invited to run the video in their stores or customize it and utilize the tool for their own promotional purposes.

“We’re really excited about the tools we’ve put in place to gain our retailers more business and learn more about their needs and wants.” says Sprinkles.
