City of Hope announced that Furniture Executive Lynn Davis died in the recent storms that hit North Mississippi. He was a devoted City of Hope NHFI (National Home Furnishings Industry) committee member.

"Lynn was a dear friend to so many of us," said Sharon Joyce, associate vice president of development for City of Hope. "His generosity, compassion and empathy for those facing hard challenges was deep and free-flowing.  When he was honored with City of Hope’s “Spirit of Life” award, he established the Walk of Hope clock tower and brick garden across from his Centers of High Point building.  In addition to establishing a research fund at City of Hope, Lynn was generous to his church and many community-based efforts in Tupelo, Mississippi.  He would do whatever he could to assist a friend in need.   His professional legacy in High Point is his four buildings and showrooms, as well as the countless shuttles that circle the town during High Point market.  Most of all, he was devoted to his family and wife Tammy.  He always had a recent picture of his new grand-daughter on his iPhone."

Services will be held in Tupelo on Saturday morning with a private graveside service following. In lieu of flowers, Tammy Davis has asked the memorial gifts be made to the Davis Family fund for auto-immune research at City of Hope.  In the five years since, it has supported significant research in Host vs. Graft disease and other issues relating to curative treatments for Stage I diabetes and other serious auto-immune diseases.

Memorial gifts may be made out to City of Hope, Davis Family Research Fund. Please send them to Sharon Joyce at City of Hope, 1055 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, Ca 90017 or call (800)272-2310.
