Todd Evans

Standard Furniture Manufacturing Company, a Top 25 Furniture Manufacturer, announced that Todd Evans has accepted the position of President of Standard Furniture.  He will also assume the role of President at International Furniture Company (I.F.M.), Standard Furniture’s design and product development company with operations in California, Vietnam and China.  Evans takes over for Mike Peters who has served as President and CEO since 2008.

Standard’s Board of Directors also announced that William Hodgson has been named CEO. Hodgson served in this role prior to 2008 at which time the board felt Mike Peters, Standard’s CFO with over 35 years experience in economic and financial management, was the best qualified executive to lead the company through the challenging economic crisis.

Evans said, “Over the past four years, Peters and the management team successfully navigated Standard through the latest recession and the company has emerged much leaner, with a greater focus on product, style, and value.” A board spokesperson also noted, “Evans’s extensive background in sales management, customer service and product development made him the clear choice for leading Standard Furniture into the future of an industry that has changed dramatically over the last five years.”

Hodgson and Evans will concentrate on building customer loyalty through strong product introductions, exceptional values and continuous operational improvement. Mike Peters will continue to work at Standard as an advisor to the CEO and a member of Standards executive management team.
