SCFMA Honors 2002 Apollo Awards Winners

Three leading retailers of summer and casual furniture were honored here last week during the annual Apollo Awards program sponsored by the Summer & Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association. The Apollo Awards, co-sponsored by Merchandise Mart Properties Inc., recognize stores for excellence in merchandising and retailing of summer and casual furniture. Winners are selected in each of three categories. This year’s winners are as follows: Single Store Category: The Greenhouse Mall, Austin, Texas Multi-Store Category: Treasure Island, Mahwah, New Jersey International Store Category: Beachcomber Home Leisure, Vernon, British Columbia. The Summer & Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association and the American Furniture Manufacturers Association are headquartered in High Point, N.C. – the furniture capital of the world – and together represent more than 200 leading U.S. furniture manufacturers and an additional 250 suppliers to the industry. About 80 of those manufacturers produce summer and casual products.
