Karel Exposition Management Kicks Off 2000 With Successful Regional Furniture & Accessory Markets

After three highly successful regional furniture and accessory markets, Karel Exposition Management is off to a great start in the year 2000. "There are no Y2K bugs anywhere in our forecast," said Larry Karel, president. "Our upcoming shows will be bigger and better than ever, reflecting the healthy U.S. home marketplace." Launching the year was the record-setting Mid-Atlantic Furniture & Accessory Market, held February 6-8 in Edison, New Jersey. "This was a complete sell-out, including an additional 100-booth expansion area," Karel said. "Many exhibitors reported record sales, indicating the nation's economy is in excellent condition." Karel Exposition Management is producing the 37 th Mid-Atlantic Furniture & Accessory Market on August 6-8 in the same location. The expansion pavilion at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center will double in size from 100 to 200 booths, in addition to the 700 booths inside the center. KEM's second show of the season, the South Florida Furniture & Accessory Market also attracted a broad roster of exhibitors. The February 26-29 show at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale drew retail buyers from the Caribbean and Latin America, as well as all parts of Florida. The New England Furniture & Accessory Market, held March 12-14, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was another sell-out for KEM. "Our exhibitors were writing orders from buyers throughout New England looking ahead to a strong selling season," said Karel. Karel Exposition Management will return to Fitchburg for the fall New England Furniture & Accessory Market to be held September 24-26 at the Royal Plaza Trade Center. "We're expecting another highly successful show," Karel said.
