A special tribute luncheon to industry veteran Vince Caputo was held at the San Francisco Mart. Over 120 retailers, reps, friends and family attended the event, held in honor of Caputo, who has distinguished himself in both retailing and as a sales representative over five decades. A native of Italy, Caputo came to the United States in his twenties and began working at Breuners Furniture upon moving to California. His career includes managerial and buying positions with Breuners and W.J. Sloanes, owning his own full line furniture store, hosting showrooms at both the San Francisco Mart and the San Francisco Design Center, and representing manufacturers in Northern California and Nevada. Caputo currently represents Omnia Leather Furniture, Chino, Ca. and Stylus Made to Order Sofas, Vancouver, BC. The luncheon was sponsored by United Furniture Club, in conjunction with the San Francisco Mart, Home Furnishings Representatives Association of Northern California, and the Home Furnishings Alumni group. Vince's mother, wife, children and grandchildren attended the event, as well as owners of Omnia and Stylus. Many of his contemporaries who have enjoyed the experience of working with Vince were in attendance. Mr. Hai Le served as Masters of Ceremony, and Mr. Michael Nguyen presented an award. Tributes were delivered by Michael Gennet, president of the San Francisco Mart; Dennis Beltrami and Joe Girimonte of the HFRA and Alumni; and members of the Caputo family.
