While many aspects of Asian Culture have made their way into the heart of Western Civilization – the food, the tea, the pottery, the films, the fabric – Westerners have not traditionally had the opportunity to feast their eyes on Ancient Asian Fine Art. This is an Art far different from those scroll paintings abundantly found on the streets of any major urban Chinatown. Now, Goo San Sui, Inc. and the National Palace Museum (Taipei) have collaborated to introduce exactingly reproduced Ancient Chinese Scroll Paintings to the U.S. These exquisite paintings, dating as far back as the Tang Dynasty (618 - 906 A.D.) represent some of the finest and most representative works from China’s heritage of renowned landscape and still life Masters. These works are seldom, if ever exhibited, even in China, due to the age and fragile nature of the original Chinese Scrolls. Traditionally commissioned and owned by Emperors, it was not uncommon for many delicate masterpieces to be destroyed as a Dynasty came to an end. Later, the fraction of paintings that survived destruction were collected and venerated by the wealthiest Chinese art patrons who understood their unique and extraordinary nature. Today, these paintings are being exactingly reproduced through license from the National Palace Museum, using traditional materials and applying ancient production processes to reproduce authentic-quality, full-color, grand-size format masterpieces. These works will be available through designers, high end retail establishments and design centers, such as the Smith & Watson New York Design Center located at 200 Lexington Avenue in New York City. ABOUT GOO SAN SUI, INC.: Goo San Sui, meaning Ancient Mountain Water, derives the company name from the subjects so superbly captured in the many of the works they import.
