Stephen Russo has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Premier Bedding Group (PBG), makers of premium bedding products and the exclusive North American licensee of Bassett bedding. In his new position, Russo will be responsible for overseeing operations at PBG, which was formed in 1999 and currently has over 400 employees and eight U.S. manufacturing facilities. His initial goal is to establish the company as a strong presence in the bedding industry. At Premier Bedding Group, our vision is to provide the world with a better night's sleep, which our products deliver, said Russo. APBG is poised for phenomenal growth as we redefine the industry by incorporating latex, a material known for a number of health and performance benefits, into our mattress designs. Russo brings 20 years of management and manufacturing experience to his new position. Prior to joining PBG, whose parent company is LIS, Russo was with two other LIS companies, Latex International (LI) and Latex Foam Products (LFP), where he was President of the Bedding Product Divisions. He also served as a Senior Vice President at Vernay Laboratories, an Ohio-based, internationally operated manufacturer and developer of elastomeric components and previously held positions at Westinghouse Corporation, ESG and Packard Electric Division, GMC. Russo holds a B.A. from Yale University and pursued graduate studies at Johns Hopkins University. He resides in Milford, CT with his wife of 19 years and two children. Premier Bedding Group, headquartered in Tampa, FL, is a mattress manufacturer and the exclusive North American licensee of Bassett mattresses. The company's product lines include Carrington Chase by Bassett, Dream Maker by Bassett, Performax and Nature's Rest. PBG was formed in 1999 by LIS Corporation, an investment company with holdings in the bedding, marketing/communications and hotel industries.
