Homecrest Unveils The Stylish Composer Collections

Classic styling and graceful lines combine with the old world look of hand-forged metals in the new Composer Collections, now available from Homecrest Industries, award-winning manufacturers of the highest quality casual/outdoor furniture. Homecrest's new Composer Collections are crafted from custom extruded and cast aluminum components. "We've created a framing for these chairs that is a custom aluminum extrusion which allows for the fluting and tailored look of wrought iron, but at a third of the weight of wrought iron," said Arthur Apissomian, Homecrest furniture designer. "The similarity within all the collections is in the framing. But within those frames, just like picture frames, we are using three distinct back approaches, so each collection has its own character." The Vivaldi, Strauss, and Ravel Collections include dining chairs, a side chair, a lounge chair, an ottoman, and a loveseat. Complementing the collections are a choice of four tables including a 63-inch rectangular dining table, a 48-inch round dining table, a coffee table, and a side table. Each Composer Collection Offers a Distinct, Ergonomically-Designed Back Treatment The Vivaldi Collection features a braided wire look, according to Apissomian, "I call it a braided wire because it's obviously the most derivative of hand-forged iron work, simulating the forging of iron rods that appear to be braided into a distinct pattern for the back of the chair." Offering a different approach, the Strauss Collection features a backrest of horizontal slats that appear to be hammered, adding a very hand-worked look to the classic planes of the frame, while the Ravel Collection features vertical teak slats -- almost a mission style in its simplicity. "The Composer Collections are all very classic and in all cases, we've gone out of our way to sculpture the contours so we create our trademark comfort," said Apissomian. The Vivaldi, Strauss, and Ravel Collections all feature optional seat and back cushion treatments. Seat cushions can be added to dining and side chairs while the lounge chair and loveseat combine both seat and backrest cushions. The ottoman is also cushioned.
