La-Z-Boy® Residential has announced the promotions of Joane VanLuven to vice president of human resources and Vivian Kovenich to vice president of customer services. The announcements were made by John J. Case, president of La-Z-Boy Residential. VanLuven first joined La-Z-Boy in 1982 and has held a variety of positions in the company's customer service, logistics, corporate legal and human resources departments. Most recently she served as corporate director of human resources and benefits, a position she has held since 1996. In her new role, VanLuven will oversee all employee relations, labor negotiations, employment and labor law, policy development and implementation, benefits and compensation, training, and safety management for the La-Z-Boy Residential division. She reports directly to Case. Kovenich has been with La-Z-Boy for 25 years. During this time, she has served in the company's data processing, internal auditing, information technology, dealer services and manufacturing services departments. In 1996, she was promoted to director of manufacturing services, and in July of this year she was named director of service administration. As vice president of customer services, Kovenich will oversee all service functions, including warranty services, consumer services and dealer services. She will also maintain her responsibilities in the manufacturing services area, supervising order entry, warehousing and production scheduling. She reports to Kurt L. Darrow, senior vice president of sales for La-Z-Boy Residential. "Both Joane and Vivian have been key members of the La-Z-Boy team for many years," said Case. "In light of our planned growth, we're delighted to have their years of experience and expertise to draw from in these new, expanded roles." Headquartered in Monroe, Michigan, La-Z-Boy Residential is a division of La-Z-Boy Incorporated, the nation's third largest furniture manufacturer and its largest manufacturer of upholstered furniture.
