Three Industry Veterans Join Shepherd Management Group

Longtime home furnishings veterans Joseph Milevsky, David J. Fass, and Richard N. Burklin recently joined the talented staff of Shepherd Management Group. With 58 years combined in the industry, Milevsky, Fass, and Burklin bring a wealth of experience in all aspects of the home furnishings arena. Milevsky has been in the furniture business for over 20 years, successfully managing different areas of the industry, from distressed operations turnaround to advertising, warehousing, merchandising, inventory control, and sales. He has increased the profitability of several companies, serving as General Manager of Haverty Furniture Company; General Manager of The Antique Guild; and District Manager for a ten store district of Storehouse Furniture. Additionally, Milevsky has worked for Workbench Furniture, Ethan Allen Concord House, and Room & Board. "We're really excited to have Joe on board as our newest Account Manager. His multi-store experience at Storehouse will really benefit our national clients," said Ted Shepherd, CEO of Shepherd Management Group. Like Milevsky, Fass has a broad background in home furnishings, serving as president and CEO of a three-store chain of La-Z-Boy Galleries in New Jersey for the past 15 years, where he was responsible for marketing, merchandising, buying, advertising, administration, warehouse & delivery, and sales training. He also took the stores from a manual operating system to a computer network. Fass has also worked for Whippany Manor Ethan Allen Gallery, where he served as Store and Operational Manager and Mirons Ethan Allen Gallery, where he served as the Sales and Store Manager. His vast knowledge of the industry will complement his Trainer role at Shepherd. "David's depth of experience, especially in successfully implementing a computer network, will greatly benefit all our clients," according to Shepherd. Burklin also has a lot to offer Shepherd clients, as a former home furnishings company owner and manager. He brings to Shepherd a strong background in recruitment, sales, training, mass merchandising, and employee supervision. Burklin has been a Manager for Rooms To Go; Gallery Manager for La-Z Boy; Manager for Rhodes Furniture; President - Owner of World Bazaar; Vice President of Sales for Costless Imports, Ltd; Sales Manager of Hanjin Container Lines, LOO.; and, Regional Sales Manager of Crossocean Shipping Company. "We're glad to have Richard with us as a Trainer. His extensive management experience in the industry will definitely be of help to our clients," Shepherd commented.
