More Space Place Recognized In Top 100 In USA And Expands With Seven New Furniture Store Openings

On the heels of More Space Place® franchise being recognized by Bonds Top 100 Franchises (Source Book Publications), the nation’s largest wall bed retailer with 28 operating units, is opening seven new locations in the first three months of 2005, including: San Antonio and Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; Gainesville, FL; Charleston and Greenville, SC; and Rehobeth Beach, DE. In 2004, the franchise opened stores in: Hilton Head, SC; Arlington, VA; Lakeland, FL; and Salem, NH (north of Boston). At the end of the quarter, the additions will increase More Space Place’s total number of nationwide locations to 33. “The chain is in the midst of an aggressive national growth strategy through franchising and has built the infrastructure to add between 10 to 15 stores a year for the next two years,” said Clark Williams, President of More Space Place, Inc. “By 2007, we anticipate adding between 15 to 20 units per year until we have expanded into every viable market Nationally.” Mr. Williams estimated this number at between 160 and 175 total units. New franchisees are provided with a comprehensive start-up package that includes financing options, location selection support, showroom design and specification, product selection, owner/personnel training and a wide array of products to offer customers in almost any market. The new stores will range from 1,800- to 3,500-square-feet in size, and will sell More Space Place’s unique and versatile modular furniture systems that can be used for either room floor space-savings or to beautify and organize a space. Products include; wall beds (Murphy beds, panel beds, side beds, etc.), entertainment centers, home offices, and organizational systems for the closet, pantry and garage. “These new franchises give More Space Place a solid industry presence. The new licensees have brought with them tremendous management and business experience, and have already added to the successful chemistry that has developed across the entire network.” said Mr. Williams. The stores are generally built in cities with populations of over 200 thousand people, marketing to owners of newly built, remodeled and vacation homes. The furniture selection has the capability of maximizing space in the home with thousands of combinations of aesthetically pleasing colors, trims, styles and accessories.
