ASFD Spring High Point Market Dinner Features Judy George as Guest Speaker

The American Society of Furniture Designers welcomes Judy George, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Boston-based Domain Home Fashions as keynote speaker at its Spring Market Dinner on Thursday evening, April 14 at the High Point Country Club. Ms. George, Domain's creator, is recognized as one of the outstanding retail home furnishings visionaries. Prior to starting Domain, she was president of Scandinavian Design for nine years, as that company grew from 4 to 87 stores. For the past 20 years, she has served as a spokesperson for the home furnishings industry and is credited with leading design concepts for the home. Judy George’s many speaking engagements range from motivational talks to presentations within the furniture industry. In addition to speaking engagements, she has made many television and radio appearances including: New England Cable News “CEO Corner”, HGTV’s “The Furniture Show”, Lifetime Television’s “Our Home” and most recently MSNBC’s “Home Page”. ASFD's evening program will also include presentation of the 2005 ASFD David Kline Memorial Scholarship winners by Hafele America Co., co-sponsor of the design contest. Students who entered the contest were asked to submit design projects using Hafele’s EKU Sliding door system. A total of $5,000 will be awarded to one winner and two finalists who competed in the contest. The event will be held at the High Point Country Club on Thursday evening, April 14, 2005 and is open to all Market-goers, including non-ASFD members. A 6:00 p.m. kick-off reception is sponsored by Leggett & Platt featuring a "mini trade suppliers show" by ASFD Corporate Members. The cost for the ASFD Market dinner and program is $55.00.
