American Furniture Manufacturing will introduce new lines of quality, upholstered promotional furniture during April’s High Point Furniture Market. The new lines will reflect current design and comfort trends in the marketplace. The company has placed an emphasis on tailoring its upholstered products for higher quality. At the same time, it is working with its vendors and suppliers to buy goods more competitively and offer the lowest price points available. “The steps we have taken to improve our product lines allow us to provide retailers with the highest quality furniture at the lowest possible prices,” said Mike Thomas, chief executive officer of American Furniture Manufacturing. “Building product to stock is a philosophy that American is committed to continuing. Our goal is to help our retailers grow and prosper by giving them the best profit margins and the fastest delivery times in the industry.” One of the improvements American Furniture made to its furniture lines was to introduce a new seating foam called Luxuron™, a premium foam that utilizes a controlled pouring process to insure longer lasting service and provide a more comfortable and consistent seating surface. During the April High Point show, the company will showcase the Luxuron seating advantage in all of its new products. According to Thomas, the Luxuron foam provides exceptional seating comfort to promotional-priced furniture, and helps set American Furniture apart from its competitors. Some of the offerings with Luxuron that American Furniture will highlight at the show are in padded suede. “Padded suede is very popular, tailors well and has high performance characteristics, all of which create value for the retail customer,” Lyle Harris, VP of sales and marketing explained. “American’s aggressive pricing allows retailers to make a higher profit margin in the mock suede category.” American Furniture also is introducing the following products during High Point: -A stationary sectional covered in a backed suede with coordinating pillows, in an upscale contemporary look. This is a two-piece group with a targeted price point of $699 retail. -A new stationary sofa and loveseat covered in soft chenille fabric with coordinating pillows. A chair and ottoman covered in the correlating pillow pattern also are available. The group has mahogany-colored legs. The sofa is priced at $399 retail, with lower prices set for the other items -A new “saddle” color in a leather look fabric, at a price point of $399 or less. -A motion sofa, rocking reclining loveseat and recliner at the $599 price point. The group is covered in chenille and has coordinating pillows. In addition to its new product groups, American Furniture has updated several of its wood trim groups to address new color trends in the marketplace and make the pieces more appealing to consumers. About American Furniture Manufacturing: American Furniture is the nation’s largest company devoted totally to upholstered promotional furniture, and produces stationary furniture, motion furniture, recliners and occasional chairs for wholesale and retail customers across the United States and Canada. Last year, the company won a preliminary injunction against its former owner, Gerald Washington and Affordable Furniture Manufacturing. The court ordered Washington and Affordable to cut all ties in honor of the five-year non-compete agreement Washington signed when he sold American Furniture. American Furniture continues to seek $50 million in damages and a permanent injunction against Washington and Affordable Furniture Manufacturing.
