Oscar de la Renta HOME Introduces New Collections

New Bedding Line: Following the spectacular unveiling of his award winning Oscar de la Renta Home Collection for Century Furniture, Mr. de la Renta is presents his latest line of essential products for the well-appointed abode: Oscar de la Renta Home Bedding, set to debut in stores for the Fall of 2004. Oscar de la Renta Home Bedding will consist of two different collections at two different price points. The collections are a license of Rose Tree and will feature a full spectrum of bed linens. OSCAR by Oscar de la Renta Home will be the first line to hit stores. The collection will feature a variety of textures including dobbys, jaquards and 300/400 thread count linens, and is set to preview in late March. Evocative of Oscar de la Renta’s three residences in the country (Connecticut), city (New York), and on the island of Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, prices for these bed linens will range from $60 to $400. Oscar de la Renta Signature Home will offer higher end bedding. Italian cotton sheets with luxury detailing, these linens with have a 400/1000 thread count. Oscar de la Renta Signature Home is scheduled to preview at the end of May. Inspiration for this sumptuous collection was found in Mr. de la Renta’s designs’ long established aesthetic tradition of rich fabrics with intricate detailing. Prices will range from $95 to $2000. “It was a natural progression for me to launch bedding after the success of the Oscar de la Renta furniture line. I look forward to this exciting next step for Oscar de la Renta Home,” commented Mr. de la Renta. The collection will be available at fine department stores, catalogues, and specialty stores nationwide. New Hand Knotted Tibetan Rug Collection: Oscar de la Renta, Ltd. announced the debut of the latest addition to the world-renowned fashion designer’s line of home furnishings: a collection of hand-knotted Tibetan and Indian rugs designed in collaboration with elson & company. The Oscar de la Renta rug collection for elson & company, available at fine retailers throughout the United States, will feature over 25 of de la Renta’s original designs, from his signature florals to repeated geometrics. The collection mirrors some of de la Renta’s most timeless fabric designs created for his home collection. Oscar de la Renta, Chairman and Founder of Oscar de la Renta, Ltd., had this to say: “I am very excited about this new division of Oscar de la Renta Home. elson & company’s rugs are exquisitely handcrafted, like a piece of couture.” Working from Oscar de la Renta’s initial sketch, elson & company worked as both advisor and liaison between their team of Tibetan and Indian weavers and the fashion designer, assisting in all aspects of production, from yarn and color selection to sample production, to finished product.
