DuPont Introduces Fire Resistant Knit Material for Use on Mattresses

DuPont, a leader in fire science technology for over 30 years, introduced the latest addition to its fire resistant (FR) product line, DuPont™ Fire Resistant Knit Material. As with all DuPont FR products, FR Knit Material features an inherent solution – meaning FR capabilities are incorporated into the individual fibers as opposed to being applied to the fiber surface. These products offer a unique alternative to products that are topically treated with FR chemicals. DuPont’s new offering of FR materials with durable FR capabilities will help provide consumers with protection that will last well beyond the mattress point of sale. DuPont™ FR Knit Material features multi-directional stretch capabilities that provide manufacturers with a material that can be easily processed, making it ideal for use with popular viscoelastic and polyurethane foam mattresses that are now synonymous with the specialty-bedding marketplace. At the same time, DuPont™ FR Knit Material conforms to the shape of the mattress foam to allow the comfort of the mattress to be experienced.
