The I.DoT exhibition represents the very best of Italian design trends and features around 100 contemporary whilst ID_CS showcases around 30 revised classic pieces all of which are either made in Italy or designed by Italian designers. The works from the 10 young designers are also on show as part of the I.DoT selection, alongside the crème of Italian contemporary design specifically due to the Almerico D’Angelis Memorial Young Designers Award – created and named in honor of the late architect and co-founder of the I.DoT project. Tim Branscome, Director of International Development commented, “Las Vegas Market has already become a huge success since its launch in July 2005. We see our international exhibits as a window to the world – enabling our visitors to enjoy global cutting edge design trends alongside US exhibitors, so we are particularly pleased to welcome I.DoT and ID_CS. This exhibit is unique because it is a showcase designed to educate and inform visitors about the best of today’s Italian design. The products will be presented in two distinct and unique settings designed by internationally renowned Italian architects Denis Santachiara and Paola Navone.” Organized by the Italian Design Agency (IDA), I.DoT takes a journey of over 37,000 miles around the world and visits some of the most important cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Berlin, Moscow, New Delhi, London, New York, Chicago and now Las Vegas. I.DoT will be one of the major attractions at the Las Vegas Convention Center where it will sit alongside other international and American exhibitors. Products are selected by prominent figures in the design world including Arturo dell’Acqua Bellavitis, Vice director of the Triennale Museum Milan and Deputy Head of the Faculty of Design at Milan Politecnico, Sophie McKinlay, Museum Design London, Chen Donliang, Director Beijing Industrial Design Center, Isabel Bachs, Museu d’Art Contemporanei Barcelona, Alexander von Vegesack, Vitra Design Museum Berlin, Francesco Morace, Future Concept Lab, Milan Politecnico, Domus Academy Milan and Anna Casotti, Director of Modo Magazine Italy.
