Top Retailers To Attend WHFA Conference In Hawaii

Some of the best-known names in home furnishings retail will be winging their way to the Big Island of Hawaii for the annual Western Home Furnishings Association (WHFA) Conference and Tradeshow May 21-23, 2006. WHFA is the 12-state nonprofit trade organization representing the interests of nearly 1,200 home furnishings retailers in the Western United States. WHFA announced that its conference is drawing interest from a wide spectrum of home furnishings industry retailers from all over the Western landscape. From current NHFA President Mary Ann Levitt of Breuner’s Arizona to the 28 industry retailers attending from Walker’s Furniture in Spokane, WA, to Conference Chair Howard Haimsohn of Lawrance Contemporary in San Diego, furniture industry professionals are congregating for networking, educational seminars, nationally known speakers and an industry tradeshow highlighting current trends and new products and services. WHFA Executive Director Sharron Bradley said the registrations represent an excellent cross-section of the home furnishings retail industry. “We’ve been successful in offering a solid mix of educational programs, keynote speakers and networking opportunities at this event. The Hawaii location will add some fun and excitement to the experience,” she said. Bradley said the event has drawn some of the movers and shakers in the home furnishings industry: Broyhill Home Collections of Aurora, CO; Thomasville of Las Vegas; Harkness Furniture of Tacoma, WA; Gates Furniture of Grants Pass, OR; and Dearden’s of Los Angeles, featuring WHFA Retailer of the Year, Ronny Bensimon, who will be feted at a formal dinner and gala on Tuesday, May 23, 2006.
